Management picks July 4 as exams date for ND1(DPT), HND1,2, ND2 students
The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has picked Wednesday, the July 4th as the commencement of the second and first semester examination for the HND1,2 and ND1(DPT) and ND2 students respectively, while emphasizing that the on-going strike by the academic staff would not affect the fixed date.
This was made known in a chat with the Deputy Rector, Oyeleke Aleem, In his office on Monday.
The Deputy Rector, said Although the management was still negotiating terms with the Union, the examination would not depend on the outcome of their intercourse, emphasizing that the date is sacrosanct.
Aleem said, "your examination next Wednesday and nothing would change the date. We have come to a compromise on this and nothing will affect the date."
He also advised students to in the levels indicated to tighten their belt in preparation for their end of the session exams and not allowed the strike action render them tendered.
A source from one of the faculties in the institution said the Dean of the faculty had been contacting Heads of the Departments under him for the submission of examination questions so as to begin its scrutiny in earnest.
He also said that the Dean, when asked whether the exam clearance would be ready in time, he replied that the portal Manager has assured that the clearance would be available for printing by Thursday, June 28, saying he would be on ground to sign as well as the HODs of different departments.
"It is hard to believe but I just learnt that we are starting our exams next Wednesday and the Dean also confirmed it to me", the source said.
