• OSPOLY Elect/Elect Students Surprise Lecturer On Birthday

    In a bid to celebrate resilience, hard work, professionalism and his illustrious contribution to the National Association Of Electrical Electronic Engineering Students (NAEEES) of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, students of the institution have surprised the Head of the Electrical Electronic Engineering department, Engineer Omotayo Mayowa on his birthday.

    In the early hours of today, some thoughtful students of Elect/Elect Engineereing stormed the office of their distinguished HOD, Engineer Mayowa, bearing different special gifts, including cakes, birthday cards, framed pictures and many wrapped, eulogizing him for his unprecedented effort and impact on students of the department.



    Chanting melodious celebratory songs, the students swept Engr. Omotayo, who was not expecting such a glamorous display of love, honour and felicitations off his feet.

    One of the organizers of the surprise birthday for Engineer Omotayo and the Vice president of Elect/Elect, Victor Oduyemi noted that the surprise birthday to felicitate the renowned lecturer was inspired by his unalloyed dedication, attention and unmatched commitment to ensure that his students are academically vibrant and morally upright.

    Appraising Engr. Omotayo's dutiful and astute role in the excellence of Elect/elect, Victor said "Engineer Omotayo is a very special person to us, he is a father. He is kind, humble, and always ready to support his students in any way he could. He treats everyone with respect and makes learning easier and more enjoyable. We organized the surprise birthday because we felt he truly deserved to be celebrated. It is our way of saying thank you for everything he has done for all of us."



    Another organizing member of the surprise birthday that caught Engineer Omotayo unaware, kazeem Lukmon Ademola, a HND 1 student of the Elect/elect department explained that despite being a fresh student of the institution, under the departmental leadership and tutelage of the celebrant, Engr. Omotayo, he has experienced genuine love and aplomb mentorship, which has played a pivotal role in sharpening his perspective, not only on academics, but on morals, self development, focus, leadership and life, generally.

    Substantiating further, he asserted "He is a great man In all aspects and in every role he plays. Engineer omotayo has an open-door policy, making it easy for students to approach him with questions, concerns, or ideas.

    "He is a uniquely friendly, approachable and selfless leader who has mastered a rare gesture of placing students at the top of his priorities.

    "In terms of lecturing, my HOD delivers engaging and interactive lectures, making complex concepts easier to understand and retain. He provides real world examples and applications, helping students see the relevance and practicality of the subject matter.

    "He also offers guidance and mentorship, helping students navigate their academic journey and providing support when needed. He  provides valuable career advice and industry insights, preparing students for their future careers.

    "Sincerely, he is an exceptional leader who has a clear vision for the department, driving initiatives and projects that benefit students and the academic community, fostering a collaborative environment, encouraging teamwork and cooperation among students, faculty, and staff."

    Also, the Elect/elect department's President, Folajin Victor eulogized Engineer Omotayo for his illuminating mind, pushing his students to stretch beyond boundaries and to believe in themselves. He said "He (Omotayo) is like a father to us all and the most respected Head of department, his impact in our life both academically and in other aspects make him deserve to be celebrated."

    Reacting to the exceptionally interesting surprise birthday masterminded by his students, Engr. Omotayo Mayowa expressed delight and appreciation for the kind gesture.

    Also, he praised lecturers of the department for their support and enviable collaboration towards making students of the department exceptional. He further thanked lecturers and members of the staff of the department for their birthday wishes, greetings and gifts.

    He said "it is a mix of happiness, joy and overwhelming surprise. My appreciation goes to God, my maker for his benevolence. I thank the leadership of our institution, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree and my gratitude is not different without extending it to my students, lecturers and  members of he department's staff. Thank you."
