BREAKING: NAMACOS SRC Speaker Swears In New Senate Nominees

The Speaker of the National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMACOS) Students’ Representative Council (SRC) has conducted the swearing-in ceremony of newly nominated Senate members.
The ceremony, which took place on Monday, February 2nd, 2026, at the NAMACOS Departmental Library, Hon. Olaoye Benjamin Itunu conducted the sworn in and Adeyombo Emmanuel Oluwafemi as the SRC Chief Whip, Francis Ortega as the Deputy Speaker, and Obafemi Ureil as the SRC Clerk.
During the swearing-in, the SRC Speaker emphasized the importance of constitutional guidance in the affairs of the council. He formally presented and read sections of the SRC Constitution to the newly sworn-in officials, stressing their responsibilities and obligations to the student body.
According to NEB Correspondents, the Speaker further highlighted the growing need to review and adopt the SRC Constitution where necessary when a question was thrown to him, to ensure it aligns with current realities and effectively serves the interests of NAMACOS students, and was discussed during the session, with calls for collective commitment to constitutional reforms.
Other notable legislative members who attended the swearing-in include the FICT Speaker, Hon. Senate Obe Aduragbemi Oluwaseun, alongside other senators and SRC members, who witnessed the ceremony.
