Medical Doctor Dies Over Super Eagles Loss
A medical consultant, Dr. Chidi Ebirim, reportedly slumped and died in Ebonyi state after the Argentina football team scored the winning goal against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The medical practitioner who was said to have died while watching Nigeria's 2-1 defeat to Argentina on Tuesday evening was a consultant at the federal teaching hospital in Abakaliki.
Dr. Ebirim collapsed when Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo powered a volley into the Super Eagles net in the 86th minute. He unconsciously shouted and slumped.
The consultant was said to have been rushed to the hospital immediately after he fell for quick medical attention, but eventually died in the early hours of Wednesday.
"He died of heart attack because he was suffering from cardiovascular disease," a source affirmed.
