Russia 2018 Special: Musa Saves Eagles, More Pressure On Messi's Argentina
The Super Eagles of Nigeria recorded their first win today in the ongoing Fifa world cup competition in Russia against the Gorillas of Iceland, and now mount pressure on Argentina.
After an awful performance in their first match against Croatia, the Super Eagles did the expected by flying over Iceland with two spectacular goals from Ahmed Musa.
The first half of the match was nothing to write home about for the eagles, as they were not able to make an attempt on goal, despite having 60℅ of the ball possession as against the 40% of the more attacking minded Gorillas.
However, the Eagles came back strong and ready to fly at the second half. Musa who was the Eagles' star man during the Brazil 2014 world cup hosted in Brazil, break the deadlock at the 49th minutes with a goal worth nominating as the best goal of the tournament.
At the 74th minute, Musa showed what he is made up of by dribbling the whole defence including the goal keeper to score his second goal and that of the match.
The Eagles now as an advantage over their next opponent (Argentina), as at least a draw with the Lionel Messi's team will see them qualify for the round of sixteen.
With this win, it is believe that the pressure is on the Argentina Football team who is yet to record a win in the competition, losing one and drawing the other.
