• Top management meets on strike, to instruct staffs to resume duty Monday

The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, may have decided to waded in on the indefinite strike declared by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, on Wednesday, the 16th of June, by instructing members of staff to resume duty on Monday.

This is made evident by the high-profile meeting called by the management of the institution, which is believe to have been about resounding their position on the demands of the striking workers.

An observation of the campus by our reporter on Friday, revealed that the meeting was also composed of mainly the Dean of Faculties with the Rector and his team who are expected to be joined by the Heads of Departments after a resolution may have been reached.

Some members of staff were seen engaging one another in chit chats, while going further to say that they would not have any choice but to resume if the management should instruct them to.

It would be recalled that, this meeting is coming against the backdrop of the directive by the ASUP that all members of staffs, especially the HODs and Directors should stay away from campus, saying the union was resonate on their decision to continue the strike.

However, members of staffs appeared to have flouted the directive as a chunk of them availed themselves to carry out the resolution of the management of the institution.
