Ospoly SUG Condemns Hike In Cyber Cafe Charges, Hints Positivity On Private Vehicle Freedom
The Student Union Government of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, under the leadership of the president, Azeez Tajudeen Adebayo, popularly known as Honourable, has condemned the increment in cyber cafe charges across the institution.
The union in a statement released on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, described the increment as one that is sardonic and unbearable to students in the institution.
Also, the union made it known that it has visited neighbouring institutions and their cafe charges aren't as outrageous as that of OSPOLY Cyber cafe.
However, the body pleaded with all cyber cafe owners on campus to reduce all charges to an affordable one, stating that the students are already facing exorbitant fees by Non-God fearing Agents and Caretakers.
“This increment in Cafe charges is sardonic and unbearable to the student in the institution.
*Photocopy now cost #50 *
*Printing now cost #200*
*Registration charges of over #3000*”
“We hereby plead to all Cyber Cafe owners in the institution to reduce all charges to an affordable one, we are in a dwindling economy where one cannot boast of a square meal. We come to lectures with empty stomach and still struggle to get hostels in the host community because of the exorbitant fees by *NON God-fearing Agents and Caretakers.“
In another development, the union government also revealed that it had started the struggle to gain the freedom of private vehicles and motorcycles on campus, promising that a positive outcome would be achieved as always.
“Our move to gain the *FREEDOM OF PRIVATE VEHICLES & MOTORCYCLE* in and out of the institutions is on, and we ensure you that a positive outcome would be achieved as always..”
“We’ll always get you informed as we will keep trying to represent your interest in all possible ways.” the release stated.
