NAMACOS Decides 2025: Three Aspirants Disqualified, One Stepped Down Ahead of Departmental Election
The National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMACOS) Electoral Committee has disqualified two aspirants and confirmed one voluntary withdrawal ahead of the forthcoming departmental election scheduled to be held Today, October 17, 2025, at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY).
Speaking on the venue this morning, Dr. Adeagbo stated that the election “cannot be cancelled or postponed anymore” but noted that the management has decided to take proper action by disqualifying the affected aspirants in line with the electoral guidelines.
According to the NAMACOS Independent Student Electoral Committee (NAMACOSISEC) Chairman, three aspirants were affected in total.
He explained that Johnson Samuel (PC Small), who was aspiring for the post of Sports Director, stepped down voluntarily for his opponent for personal reasons.
Meanwhile, Olaniyan Rasheed Olamilekan, an aspirant for the post of vice president, was disqualified for failing to present his first semester result, which is part of the eligibility requirements for all candidates.
Similarly, Babalola Ezekiel Olawusunkanmi, who was contesting for the position of treasurer, was disqualified for not meeting the minimum required Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.50, having recorded a GPA of 2.16.
The NAMACOSISEC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a transparent, fair, and credible electoral process, emphasizing that “only aspirants who meet all stipulated requirements will be allowed to contest.”
