BREAKING: DSA Holds Leadership Meeting on CBT Exams, Discipline, Student Welfare

The Dean of Students Affairs (DSA), Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, Dr. Tope Abiola, alongside other members of the top Management, held a leadership meeting with student representatives to address key academic, disciplinary, and welfare issues ahead of this semester.
The meeting, which took place today, Monday 26th, 2026, at the Board of Studies (BOS), brought together the Students’ Union Government (SUG) executives, faculty, and departmental presidents with their executives, as well as class governors and their deputies.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Abiola commended the SUG President, Sen. Comrade Ajayi Kehinde Emmanuel, for his leadership efforts and urged all student leaders to work closely with the union to maintain order and discipline on campus.
He later announced that Computer-Based Tests (CBT) would commence this semester, adding that students are expected to have access to either a smartphone or a laptop.
He further explained that while not all courses would be CBT-based, a large number would adopt the format.
Dr Abiola, also addressed issues relating to school fees payment, course registration, class attendance, and portal management. He stressed the need for competent technical experts to handle the school portal to avoid unnecessary challenges for students.
On discipline, Dr. Abiola emphasized proper student appearance, warning against indecent dressing, unnatural hair colours ( tint ), long attachments, bushy hair, and dreadlocks for male students.
He stated that offenders would face a one-semester suspension. According to him, an awareness rally would first be conducted, after which defaulters would be sanctioned.
He further warned students to stay away from cultism and secret societies, describing them as illegal groups linked to intimidation and misconduct.

On the CBT examinations, the Director of Career Services, Prince Adekunle, advised students to manage their time properly, arrive at CBT centres at least 30 minutes early, ensure their devices are fully charged, and avoid sharing login details or using café man to access exams on their behalf.
Furthermore, the school website expert, GANAF representative, Mr. Funbi, explained the procedures for passport capturing, Face ID verification, portal security, and login processes.
Students were advised to come along with their ID cards, safeguard their login details, and visit the ICT unit for password resets if necessary. He added that Wi-Fi would be provided during examinations.
Moreover, the Director of Quality Control and Evaluation, Barr. Saka Adebayo Afolabi, addressed the importance of punctuality, good conduct, classroom etiquette, and active participation.
He reminded students that a minimum of 75 percent ( 75% ) class attendance is required to qualify for examinations.
During the interactive session, students raised concerns about the high cost of textbooks and handouts, as well as the shortage of lecture rooms and, the SUG President praised the contributions, describing them as signs of growing student awareness.
He revealed plans to introduce suggestion boxes across faculties to gather feedback on textbooks, handouts, and practical manuals.
