The Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Alhaji Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi, has announced the schedule of activities for the institution’s 2026 convocation ceremony while highlighting key achievements recorded under his administration.

He announced this on Monday, March 23, 2026, during a press conference held at the ETF Hall of the institution.

According to him, the grand finale of the Combined 8th Convocation Ceremony will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2026, where diplomas, certificates, and prizes will be awarded to deserving graduands.

As part of the activities lined up, a convocation lecture will be delivered on Wednesday, March 25, by a Professor of Business Administration from the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, followed by a cocktail party at the institution’s Staff Club. A novelty football match between staff and alumni members is also scheduled as part of the programme.

He also highlighted several infrastructural developments, including the rehabilitation of lecture halls, upgrading of staff offices, improvement in electricity supply, and renovation of campus roads. Other initiatives include staff training in e-teaching, procurement of medical equipment, and expansion of students’ skill acquisition programmes.

On academic performance, the Rector disclosed that the institution has established partnerships with the University of Ilorin and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, to enhance academic delivery.

Also, addressing staff welfare, Alabi attributed the steady payment of staff emoluments to the support of the Osun State Government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, noting that the administration’s welfare-driven approach has created a conducive working environment.

He also commended the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Olutope Abiola, for maintaining effective communication between students and management, which he said has helped sustain peace across the institution.
