OSPOLY Staff Defeat Alumni On Penalties as Convocation Sports Activities Hold at Pavilion

The Staff team of the Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree emerged victorious over the Alumni team via penalty shootout after a goalless draw in a friendly football match held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the institution’s pavilion as part of activities marking the ongoing convocation ceremony.
The match, which ended 0–0 at full time, was decided on penalties with the Staff team converting more spot-kicks to defeat their Alumni counterparts.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Rector, Alabi Kehinde Adeyemi; Deputy Rector, Dr. G. O. Oyeleke; Registrar, O. A. Oloyede; and the National President of the Mass Communication Alumni of OSPOLY (MAOS), Adekunle Sikiru (Abacus), among other top management staff and members of the polytechnic community.
During the match, female staff of the institution also participated in the friendly match, where Team Yellow secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Team Red.
The matches formed part of the convocation activities aimed at fostering unity, strengthening alumni relations, and providing relaxation for members of the institution community amid the academic celebrations.
