JUST IN: OSPOLY Mgt Makes SUG Fee Payment Mandatory for Full-Time Students

The management of Osun State Polytechnic Iree has announced that payment of the Student Union Government (SUG) fee is now compulsory for all full-time students of the institution.
This was stated in an internal memorandum issued by the Directorate of Student Affairs and addressed to students across the polytechnic.
According to the memo dated March 31, 2026, and signed on behalf of the Student Affairs Officer ( SAO ), the decision was taken to ensure the effective functioning of the student union.
The management stated that all students are required to pay the stipulated fee which is five hundred naira only ( #500 ) and obtain a receipt as proof of payment.
It warned that students who fail to comply with the directive will not be allowed to submit their registration files or complete their examination clearance at the faculty level.
The institution explained that the payment is necessary to enable the SUG to carry out its responsibilities, including promoting student welfare and executing duties as outlined in its constitution.
Management added that the policy is aimed at strengthening the union’s operations and ensuring it serves students more effectively.
Students were therefore urged to comply promptly to avoid any disruption to their academic activities.
