The Rector of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, Comrade Kehinde Alabi, has declared a zero-tolerance stance against cultism, warning newly admitted students to steer clear of such activities.
Alabi made the declaration on Friday, April 17, 2026, during the institution’s 31st matriculation ceremony held at the Educational Trust Fund (ETF) Hall.
While addressing the matriculating students, the Rector emphasized that the institution will not condone any form of cult-related activities, describing them as a serious threat to academic and moral development.
“We operate a zero-tolerance policy on cultism. Do not be enticed into it, do not go near it—abhor and reject it completely,” he said.
He further urged students to take a firm stand against cultism, warning that involvement in such acts often leads to destructive consequences.
He also advises that, beyond security concerns, the new students should familiarize themselves with the institution’s grievance redress procedures. He explained that students with complaints should first approach the Student Affairs Directorate, and if unresolved, escalate the matter to their Head of Department (HOD) and subsequently to the Dean of their faculty.
The Rector assured the students that both his office and that of the Registrar remain open and accessible, adding that all issues brought forward would be treated with strict confidentiality.
He concluded by encouraging the students to focus on their academic pursuits and uphold the values of discipline and excellence throughout their stay in the institution.
