    By Samuel Akintola

The Speaker of the Student Representative Council (SRC) at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Rt. Hon. Ogunsakin Samuel Temiloluwa (OG Media), has officially directed all aspirants to strictly comply with the rules and regulations guiding the ongoing electoral process.

According to the directive, aspirants are permitted to begin awareness activities from May 20, 2026, in line with the approved electoral guidelines.

However, the electoral body clarified that the ban on open campaigns has not yet been lifted, stressing that the current period is strictly for awareness purposes only.

Aspirants were advised to promote their names and identities in a low-key manner without officially declaring their positions or fully unveiling their campaign structures until the Independent Student Electoral Committee (ISEC) officially lifts the ban on open campaigns.

The directive also warned aspirants against pasting posters, notices, banners, or painting on any school walls or properties, noting that violators would be sanctioned accordingly.

It further explained that the current phase is only for awareness creation pending the official declaration by ISEC for the commencement of full campaign activities.

Students and aspirants were urged to remain peaceful, responsible, and committed to ensuring a free, fair, and credible electoral process.
