SUG Launches Skills Acquisition Programme to Empower OSPOLY Students

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, has unveiled a Skills Acquisition Programme aimed at equipping students with practical vocational skills to promote entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
The initiative, organised through the Office of the Vice President in collaboration with the Office of the Director of Socials and Publicity (DSP), was announced in an official flyer released by the union.
According to the union, the programme, tagged "Action and Empowerment Initiatives," is designed to complement students' academic pursuits with practical skills capable of creating employment opportunities and promoting financial independence.
Participants will receive training in Fashion Design, Hairdressing, Barbering, Catering and Pastry, Baking, Shoemaking, Cobbling, Tie and Dye, Bead Making, and Graphics Design.
The Students' Union stated that the initiative aligns with its vision of building skills, empowering youths, creating jobs, and raising future leaders.
Departmental Presidents have been directed to nominate five students each from their respective departments to participate in the training.
The programme is being organised under the leadership of the Agents of Liberalism administration, led by SUG President, Comrade Ajayi Kehinde Emmanuel (Sir Kenny), with the theme: "Equipping Minds. Empowering Lives. Building Tomorrow."
