OGM EMERGES OSPOLY SUG PRESIDENT AS STUDENTS ELECT NEW EXECUTIVES
Ogunmodede Oluwatobiloba Olanrewaju, popularly known as OGM, has emerged as the President-elect of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, after polling 1,237 votes in the 2026/2027 SUG election conducted on Saturday.
OGM defeated Abdullateef Oyediran, who polled 641 votes, while the third presidential candidate, Funmilayo Shokunbi, recorded 8 votes. The election was conducted online through the OSPOLY student portal from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., following the timetable announced by the Independent Students Electoral Commission (ISEC).
The election marked the conclusion of weeks of campaigns, student engagements and debates ahead of the emergence of a new SUG administration.
Following the conclusion of voting, the Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Dr. Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi, addressed party agents, students and other stakeholders at the Election Situation Room.
The Rector noted that the exercise marked the second e-voting election conducted by the institution.
The Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Tope Abiola, appreciated the school management for embracing and implementing the e-voting system for the SUG election.
He also commended OSPOLY students for abiding by the rules and regulations guiding the electoral process. Dr. Tope Abiola reaffirmed that the examinations scheduled to commence on Monday, September 21, 2026, would hold as planned.
Speaking at the Election Situation Room, the DSA maintained that nothing would alter the already scheduled examination timetable.
The clarification came as students celebrated the conclusion of the election and prepared for the commencement of academic activities. Other candidates also emerged in the various positions contested during the election.
Michael Fabule emerged as Vice President with 1,122 votes, while Dolapo Boladale became General Secretary with 1,059 votes.

Treasurer: Maleek Aminu — 871 votes
Welfare Officer: Grace Adebayo — 872 votes
Public Relations Officer: Taofeek Adejare — 836 votes
Sports Director: Paul Fajimolu — 970 votes
Assistant General Secretary: Aliyah Abioye — 772 votes
Social Director: Daniel Akinsuyi — 795 votes
Financial Secretary: Emmanuel Ajayi — 754 votes
Auditor: Abosede Oladapo — 777 votes
For the Sports Director position, Fajimolu defeated Omokagbo Adebayo, who polled 448 votes.
With the election concluded, attention now shifts to the transition and inauguration of the newly elected SUG executives, while students prepare for the commencement of examinations.
