• Osun Communities Blackout: IBEDC Blames Technical Issues, Offers Apology to Residents, Students

    The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has attributed the prolonged power outage in Iree and neighboring communities to technical difficulties within their system


    The Customer Relations officer for the Iree branch, Mr. Kazeem while speaking with our correspondent on Friday, September 8, 2023, revealed that there are ongoing efforts from the organization's technical team to address the issue.


    He stated that the organization is currently wrestling with technical challenges in its system that are being diligently addressed. 


    “We are working to get it resolved, it is a technical issue from our system,” he said 


    Furthermore, Kazeem, on behalf of IBEDC's management, issued an apology to all affected customers, including the students who have endured the inconvenience caused by the blackout.


     "I want to take this opportunity to express our sincere apologies for any disruptions this may have caused to our valued customers, including the students," he stated.


    Previously, NEB reported the complaints of Osun State Polytechnic students in Iree and residents of surrounding areas, including Ikirun, Ada, and others, who have experienced a continuous blackout in which they voiced concerns about the negative impact of the outage on their daily activities and businesses.


    However, As of the time of this report, there is no specific information from the organization regarding the expected duration of the power outage.
