"Suspected burglars may be arraigned"-Iree Police DCO
The Divisional Crime Officer of Iree Police station has on September 30, 2023, disclosed that the three suspected burglars who were apprehended in Iree for allegedly stealing over 50 phones, are yet to confess to the crime.
She also disclosed that the suspects may be charged to court on October 3 (Tuesday), 2023.
However, NEB correspondent who tried to retrieve information about the number of items that were carted away by the alleged burglars was denied access, on the basis that the right source to get such information was the Police PRO.
However, one of the complainants whose phone was also stolen in 'Halleluyah' hostel, at the back of Havana resort centre, deeper life area in Iree, stated that since she and her hostel mates reported that their items were stolen, and suspects arrested on September 29, 2023, policemen are yet to visit her hostel, a crime scene where six phones and two powerbanks were stolen.
Furthermore, according to some students whose items were stolen, one of the suspects allegedly escaped and he is still on the run as of the time of filling this report.
Notwithstanding, the Police DCO stated that the case is a sensitive one and promised to update the Press on any developments about the case.
