4-Day Capacity Training: OSPOLY Rector, Alabi Admonishes HND II Students To Embrace Confidence, Resilience Others

The Rector of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, Mr. Kehinde Alabi, has admonished the graduating students of the institution to embrace confidence, resilience, and diverse set of skills to thrive in the competitive world.
Mr Alabi made this call while speaking during a 4-Day Training/Workshop organized by Migrant Resource Center (MRC) Federal Ministry of Labor and Productivity , in collaboration with GIZ-for Centre for Migration and Development and TEMI Foundation for Women and Youth Development for all graduating Higher National Diploma (HND II) students of OSPOLY, at the Education Tetfund (ETF) hall of the school.
The rector stated that the skills and knowledge acquired during the training are not just for self-reliance, maintaining that "they are your passports to connectivity, both nationally and internationally," while he added that "This training will expose you to global best practices, broadening your horizons and equipping you to compete with the best."
He then urged the graduating students to take full advantage of the unique opportunity, participate actively, network with peers and absorb every bit of knowledge and insight that the training offers.
Meanwhile, The Head of Migrant Resource Centre (MRC) Lagos, Barrister Maureen Ovie during her speech, emphasized on the essence of the workshop, saying that the program is playing crucial role in promoting safe migration and ensuring employment opportunities for the Labour Force in Nigeria in alignment with the ILO’s Decent work Agenda.

She added that the Employability Training Programme, designed in tandem with local and global employers, equips young people and graduates with essential soft skills for navigating the job market. Also recognizing the prevalent trend of youth migration, the initiative aims to curb irregular migration, providing vital information to make informed decisions and protect individuals from exploitation.
In the same vein, the Component Manager for GIZ-Centre for Migration and Development, Lagos, Ayomikun Olugbode noted that GIZ-Centre for Migration and Development basically is to fill the capacity of our partners, specifically center and social supports, to provide trainings or skills that are relevant for migration, while also providing regular migration advice to Nigerians who want to migrate to Germany or any other country.

Similarly, the Programme Coordinator of TEMI Foundation for Women and Youth Development, Mr Abdulrahman Orosanya, maintained that throughout the training, participants would be given valuable insights into the employability pathway, both within the country and outside the country.

At the end of the 4 days workshop participants are expected to be well equipped on how to embark on safe migration to other countries most especially to Germany. Some of the dignitaries who attended the training include the Rector of OSPOLY, Mr. Kehinde Alabi; Deputy Rector, Dr Gboyega Seun Oyeleke; Registrar, Mr. Abiodun Oyedele Oloyede; Bursar, Mr. Sunday Ademola Afolabi; Director of Career Service; Mr. Adekunle Olalekan ; Dean of Faculties; The GIZ, represented by the Component Manager, Mr Ayomikun Olugbode; Chief Operating Officer, TEMI Foundation, Adeyeye Ayotemide and others.
