JUST IN: NEB Awards Student For Remarkable Performance In Journalism
The NAMACOS Editorial Board, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree has awarded a student of Mass Communication, National Diploma (ND1), Ekle Ada Peace, for her remarkable improvement and performance in News Writing and Reporting.
During the special recognition and award presentation at Multipurpose Hall (MPH 2), ND1 lecture room, the Editor-in-Chief of NEB, EDM Asiyanbi Abraham, made it cleared that her recognition was based on thorough observations, noting that she is not only the best among other trainees in NEB but her exceptional dedication and hardworking earned her the award.
He also stated that students should see NEB as a board of excellence, wanting to equip students of the department with the practical knowledge needed in the course of their study in order to be relevant outside the school.
Abraham emphasized that students should discover their inner potential and make their possible best to build it before graduating from school. He also explained the essence of acquiring practical skills and knowledge in a discipline (Mass Communication) while in school while it prepares them for future challenge.
Moreover, the awardee, Edm Ekle Ada expressed her gratitude to Almighty God and appreciated her parents for always providing needed supports in her academic journey and she also lauded Namacos Editorial Board for their relentless efforts towards building herself in Journalism.
In the same vein, Peace advised other students to keep trying using their brain instead of depending on Artificial Intelligence (AI) which students see as fastest way to solve their problem nowadays.
She said “Thanks to NEB. My writing skills improved and I could discover what was hidden. I wish to say more but words can’t explain my feelings and gratitude.
“Students should join NEB as the board is really great. We are here to learn but explore also. NEB will give you the experience needed to work on the field.”
Other executives at the award presentation were: EDM Iyiola Samuel, NEB Broadcast Manager; EDM Ajayi Sheriffdeen, NEB Photo Journalist and Akindiya Prevailer, NEB General Secretary.
