OSPOLY FICT Freshers CUP: OTM Defeats Undefeatable Mass Comm To Lift Trophy

The Department of Office Technology and Management (OTM) Freshers Team, has during the final stage of the Freshers Cup competition organized by the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology Students Association (FICTSA), confidently defeated the Undefeatable Mass Communication Freshers Team to lift the cup for the 2024/2024 academic session.
The match which was played at the institution’s pavilion today, 7th March, 2025, witnessed a head-to-head match between duo teams.
NEB gathered that OTM Freshers team took the lead with 1:0 at the first half of the game and after the game resumes second half, Mass Comm Freshers team equalized to have a draw (1:1). However, OTM’s persistence paid off as they scored to have a come back lead of 2:1 which ultimately led to a win for the team.

Meanwhile, despite the chaos erupted when Mass Comm was awarded a penalty against OTM, witnessed by NEB at the second half of the game, caused the match to stopped for a while and the match continued thereafter it was settled.
While speaking with the winning team coach, Ekundayo Bright, he expressed his happiness over the results of the game while he noted that Mass Communication team is not an easy football team but “we studied their game yesterday and we also put in the efforts.”
Bright therefore lauded the skills of the players which was displayed on the pitch and their efforts towards winning the match. He also shared with NEB metro that they were expecting the winning while they were also confident in their aspirations.

However, the spectators of OTM Freshers team alongside leaders and other students of the department leaped for joy while singing “stand up, stand up for the cham-pions, stand up,” as they emerged the champions of the football competition.
Recall that the FICT tournament kicked-off yesterday between NAMACOS FC vs LIS FC and Com Science FC vs OTM FC.
