JUST IN: OSPOLY NEB Inducts New Executives for 2025/2026 Academic Session
Namacos Editorial Board (NEB), Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has officially inducted new executives into the board for the 2025/2026 academic session today.
The induction of new NEB executives occurred today Monday 8th of September, 2025, during the NEB handover and launch of magazine ceremony that took place at the New Lecture Hall 1 (NLH) of the institution. The NEB Handover took place alongside NAMACOS Final Year Brethren Day 1, tagged "Corporate Day.
The guest speaker, former NEB Editor-in-Chief, 2020/2021 and alumnus of OSPOLY, Mr. Odedele Temilade Damilola , known as Shakespeare, while delivering a lecture on the topic “Maintaining Journalism Ethics Amid AI Integration," encouraged campus journalist to ensure they maintain ethics of journalism amid AI integration.

Temilade added that "the media world is changing rapidly, and it is our duty as communicators to ensure that truth, objectivity, and accountability remain at the heart of journalism, no matter how advanced technology becomes."
He also commended NEB executives for playing a significant role in the academic growth of students in the Mass Communication.
Meanwhile, Dr. Aderemi Adeagbo, while speaking to outgoing and incoming NEB executives, he appraised the efforts of the outgoing executives for their job well done, despite the shortcomings they encountered during their tenure.

He also mentioned that NEB executives often put work on the Editor-in-Chief, stating that most of the news published were often written EIC and few people. He added the new NEB executives should work on discharging their duties diligently.
Also, the outgoing Editor-in-Chief of NEB, EDM Asiyanbi Abraham Blessing, during his speech, urged the incoming executives to discharge their duties diligently, ensuring that NEB's legacy continues to inspire students, especially in the department of mass communication and institution at large.
Asiyanbi, further appreciated the Head of the Mass Communication Department, Dr. Idowu Akinrosoye, and other lecturers in the department for their guidance and mentorship, and for providing an enabling environment where practical journalism is possible.
According to him, he said "the success of the board is not from me but with the collective work of NEB 2024/2025 executives. So far, we were able to report factual events through conscience journalism and students of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, received timely stories despite challenges faced during the practice.
"NEB created teams which include interview team; news writing team; broadcasting team; yoruba news interpretation team; photo journalism team where students of the department joined to discover their potentials, build themselves, learn, unlearn and relearn. We have been able to groomed students with practical knowledge of the team they belong to."
