The Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Mr Kehinde Alabi has during the ongoing E-voting Election of the Student Union Government (SUG) praised the introduction of electronic voting (e-voting) in student elections, describing it as a way to ensure peace and protect students’ lives.

He explained that e-voting has stopped the use of weapons during elections and assured that the management has no interest in any candidate, adding that the system will be improved upon with time.

He expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the ongoing student union election, noting that the introduction of electronic voting has brought peace and order to the process.

The Rector explained that in past years, elections were often disturbed by violence, with students carrying weapons such as cutlasses and guns while struggling to gain access to the campus.

According to him, the adoption of e-voting was to prevent such incidents and ensure the safety of all students.

He also thanked security personnel and the press for their roles in maintaining peace and ensuring transparency through proper coverage of the election.

Mr Bayo Fadeyi also commended the Rector for keeping his promise to make the e_voting possible, noting that it is the first time such a system is being used in the school.

"The man that has promised to transform the institution and has really do. The man who has made e_voting possible in Osun State Polytechnic, Iree". Mr Bayo said.
