OSPOLY Rector, Alabi Welcomes Request Of SUG President, Assures Continuous Development, Innovation, Digital Transformation

The Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY), Mr. Kehinde Alabi, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to continuous development, innovation, and improved learning conditions within the institution.
Mr. Alabi gave the assurance during an Inauguration event held with the newly elected representatives of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), where he outlined several ongoing and upcoming projects designed to enhance both academic and campus life.

The Rector said, the Faculty of Engineering will soon commence the production and assembly of a new innovation project known as “Tricycling Recycle.”
He explained that the faculty will take full responsibility for the design, manufacturing, and mobilization of the equipment across institutions, reflecting the school’s growing commitment to technological advancement and creativity.
He also disclosed that the renovation and reconstruction of classrooms would begin soon, following the state governor’s recent pledge to support infrastructural renewal within the polytechnic.
In addition, Mr. Alabi revealed that the institution has embarked on a library modernization and mobilization project aimed at strengthening academic research and learning. He noted that new books, modern gadgets, and digital learning tools have already been supplied to the school library.
The Rector encouraged the SUG President, Comrade Ajayi Kehinde Emmanuel (Sir Kenny), to visit and inspect the newly equipped library, expressing confidence that the upgrade would make studying more convenient and enjoyable for students.
Addressing the issue of the delayed release of students’ results, the Rector assured that such challenges have now been resolved through the introduction of a new digital result system.
With this system, results will be uploaded and made available online immediately after approval by the Board of Studies, allowing students to check their grades conveniently on their smartphones.
Furthermore, Mr. Alabi appreciated the entire management team for ensuring a peaceful and transparent e-voting election, commending the successful conduct of the process without any form of violence or disruption.
"The successful election and today’s inauguration were a result of careful preparation and dedication,” he stated.
He congratulated the newly elected executives, describing them as fortunate among their peers, and reminded them that “unionism on campus is not part of academics but part of education.”
He urged them to remain disciplined, respect school regulations, and work closely with their Heads of Department (HODs) and the Students’ Affairs Unit to ensure smooth communication and conflict resolution.
While speaking, he said "you must know your primary assignment as students and always uphold the institution’s values. Leadership is a privilege, use it to build bridges, not walls.”
Present at the meeting were the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Tope Abiola, the Director of Media and Public Relations, Mr. Fadeji, and other members of the institution’s management team.
