• BREAKING: OSPOLY SUG Meets With Cafe Operators, Smashes Prices of Campus Cafe Services

    By Samuel Akintola

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has today reached a new agreement with the Association of Campus Computer Operators (ACCOO) to reduce and standardize service charges across campus cafés.

The agreement, which followed a meeting held this week at the institution, aims to address long-standing complaints from students about excessive billing.

The meeting, convened by the SUG, brought both parties together to review the rising cost of services such as photocopying, printing, portal updates, fee processing, and other student transactions. During the discussions, ACCOO presented its initial pricing structure, after which both sides negotiated and agreed on more student-friendly rates.

Under the new directive, photocopying has been reduced from ₦100 to ₦50, while typing and printing (from five copies upward) now cost ₦300 instead of ₦500. PDF printing drops from ₦200 to ₦100, and coloured printing reduces from ₦500 to ₦400.

Also, file arrangement and acceptance/updating fees remain at ₦4,000 each, while medical fee charges are pegged at ₦1,462. School fee processing now stands at ₦1,500 for half payment, ₦3,000 for full payment, and ₦1,000 for printouts.

The SUG also directed all café operators to immediately release student portal login details after registration and instructed students to collect their Gmail login credentials to prevent unauthorized access to their accounts.

According to the union, the revised prices are binding on all operators under ACCOO, and monitoring will continue to ensure full compliance. Students have been encouraged to report any violations to the SUG Secretariat.

The SUG executives appreciated ACCOO for its cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to protecting students from exploitation while improving service delivery on campus.
