JUST IN: SRC Slams OSPOLY SUG Executives Over #500 Fee Announcement, Calls It "Unauthorized"

The Students Representative Council of the Students Union Government, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has petitioned the recent announcement of Students Union Fee which is #500 by Students Union Executives.
In a forwarded memo released and signed by SRC Senate President, Ogunsakin Samuel Temiloluwa (OG MEDIA) and SRC Clerk, Ajayi Deborah Marvellous (GLAMOUR), it was contained that "the ongoing collection of the SUG fee (₦500) from students of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree is unauthorized."
"In line with the constitutional provisions guiding the Students’ Union Government, no financial obligation is to be imposed on students without proper legislative deliberation, approval, and documentation by the Students’ Representative Council (SRC)," the memo said.
However, the memo noted that "no student should be compelled or encouraged to pay the said SUG fee until due process is followed and an official resolution is passed by the SRC.
It would be recalled that the Students Union Government (SUG) in the early hours of today announced the amount of the fee and the account the payment would be made to. Meanwhile, few minutes later, SRC wrote a petition against the decision.

This is to formally bring to your attention, and that of the entire Union Executive Council, that the ongoing collection of the SUG fee (₦500) from students of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree is *unauthorized and has not passed through the required legislative process.
In line with the constitutional provisions guiding the Students’ Union Government, no financial obligation is to be imposed on students without proper legislative deliberation, approval, and documentation by the Students’ Representative Council (SRC).
Therefore, no student should be compelled or encouraged to pay the said SUG fee until due process is followed and an official resolution is passed by the SRC.
This petition serves as a formal request for the immediate suspension of any fee collection until the matter is addressed lawfully.
Let us uphold transparency, due process, and the trust students have placed in us."
