NAMACOS Decides: Osebaba Wins, Plantain Chips Sells
The Mass Communication departmental election of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree which took place today at the department complex saw Kamoru Hammed aka Osebaba emerged as the departmental President.
He defeated Oloyede Paul aka Kashimawo with 369 votes. Kashimawo ended the race with 317 votes.
The seat of the Financial secretary of the department went to Florence Olugbodi who defeated her opponent with 500 votes.
Other positions like Public Relations Officer, Sport Director, Social Director, Vice President, General Secretary, Treasurer, and Welfare were contested unopposed.
The voting process which started around 9am and ended at about 2: 28pm was generally peaceful.
The chairman of the Independent Students Electoral Commission (ISEC), Ola Adebowale announced the winners of the election at about 4pm.
The just concluded election has made the Mass Communication department the first department in the institution to conduct an election since the ban on unionism two sessions ago.
The management of the institution lifted the ban on May 14, 2018.
