JAMB regularization which is now referred to as JAMB Late Registration is simply a way of having your details or records with JAMB in order to be able to go for your NYSC after graduation or apply for Direct Entry.
Students who are expected to be regularized are those who gained admission into a tertiary institution (Polytechnic, College of Education or University) without a jamb registration number. That is, such an admission was not recognized nor approved by JAMB either because such a student was admitted through a part time programme (Weekend Part Time, Daily Part Time or Distance Learning). Or you wrote UTME and you got admitted but your school did not notify Jamb of your admission even though you have a Jamb registration number.
If you were admitted via UTME but not sure whether you have been regularized or not, simply follow these steps to be sure:
1. Visit www.jamb.org.ng
2. Scroll to the year you wrote your JAMB (e.g 2014)
3. Click on Check admission Status
4. Enter your JAMB registration number and click enter.
You will get a message displaying the name of the school you were admitted, your passport photograph and your course of study. When you get this, it means you don't longer need regularization. You can go ahead with your DE registration, pay for the one thousand naira to print your admission letter if you don't have already. If you are an awaiting corp member, it means that you are good to go.
But if you get a message saying ‘Sorry no admission is given yet‘…, then you need to regularize before applying for direct entry/NYSC.
Please note: the above procedure is for those who have a Jamb registration number.
But if you were a part time student. That's, you were admitted without sitting for UTME, don’t bother to check. Just get your N10, 000 for the JAMB Late Application form ready, then follow the steps below to get regularized.
