REPUBLISHED: OSPOLY Mgt Announces Schedule for SUG Election

The Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has recently released the schedule for the students' union election.
This was in an internal memorandum released on Tuesday, stating August 31, 2022, as the slated date for the SUG election.
Quoting the memo, the announcement was a result of the approval of the amended Students' Union Government constitution by the Board of Studies.
“Sequel to the consideration and approval of the Amended Students' Union Constitution by the Board of Studies, the Directorate of Student Affairs in conjunction with the Leadership of the Student Union resolved to prepare a Time Table for 2022 SUG Election” the memo stated
However, the circular which was from the Directorate of Student Affairs and signed by Student Affairs Officer Mr Paul F. Olawoyin, subsequently stated August 8th to 12th for the request for nomination of Independent Students Electoral Commission members; 15th August for constitution of ISEC members, lifting of the ban, a notice of election and commencement of campaign by the aspirants; 17th to 25th August for sales of elections' form by the ISEC for Students Union; 23rd August for last day of submission of forms; 24th for the nomination of SRC at Departmental Level, 25th for the inauguration of SRC and election of the principal officers, 26th for the display of the list of eligible contestants, 30th for the publication of the list of eligible voters and manifestos as well, the last day for the campaign while August 31 will be for the election day.
Worthy of note, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Students' Union Government election is an exercise to vote for students considered capable to lead in respective students' leadership positions.
The election was conducted by ISEC chaired by Oluwatobi Temiteye in October 2021 and was between Irinoye Benjamin Oluwatoyin also known as Bengee and Bamigboye Peter Oluwadamilola also known as Dammygold.
The election was cancelled due to the anomalies and violence it was considered characterised by the ISEC Chairman.
