Op-Ed: OSPOLY Odorous godfatherism, Political ‘Higi Haga’ And Myopic Presidential Aspirant
It is crystal clear how many of these aspirants are suffering from Megalomania because their Jiggery-pokery no longer makes any sense, I’m sure they are oriented by their past Mephistophelean leaders, thinking they can act like a gargantuan Bugaboo towards the media, their Insalubrious behavior is getting out of hand, it worth qualifying this situation as a Conundrum because it is so Egregious.
An aspirant who cannot respect the media can never respect the will of the students, just so you know that you might be wasting your vote if you vote for this particular presidential aspirant [name withheld] although, democratically you have the right to exercise your franchise in whatever direction, yet it is no sense if you're channeling such franchise to the wrong ‘path’, especially if you remember that this Ospoly democracy had been stolen for a long time.
Apart from fulfilling the informational roles, the media is ethically laced to perform the opinion roles and that is exactly what you're reading, the media is representing the ordinary student, specifically the student of Osun State Polytechnic,Iree, in this context. The media need to ask what each candidate has to offer the student society. Tell me, how should we qualify a candidate that is running away from the media? Directly or indirectly he has nothing to offer. One who is not accountable before getting entrusted with power can never be submissive if entrusted with such power.
Swinging into the book of history, checking the catalogs of the media library, it was highlighted how this unethical philosophy was common among some myopic past aspirants and leaders and how they keep passing it from one generation to another. Turning politics into a bedroom affair that doesn't concern the media. It is comical and it established no iota of sense.
Academically, I wonder how aspirants got trained in politics without being schooled on how to approach or relate with the media, many are just informed on how to shout ‘Aluta Continua’ leaving behind knowing the difference between power and authority, having no idea about how media means [The People]
Factually, Ospoly politics cannot witness progress if all these past leaders don't stop impacting bad values on the new aspirant just because they want to claim the ‘godfather’, I hope they are not also doing their outside campus politics this way. Because this cannot even win you a classroom not to talk of a ward or local government, whatsoever.
The media is the people, the media is the ordinary students that you're seeking their support , you shouldn’t be too busy to attend to the media (the students), you shouldn’t be busy to inform the public on what you have in store for them. If eventually you emerged , you will remind the media [the people] on how you owe them nothing , as none of your promises was made known to the media , your accountability matters now and the power of the pen will not stop demanding for it.
