Two Mass Communication Students Bag Prince Basiru’s Scholarship

Two Students from the mass communication department in Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, have bagged a scholarship sponsored by Prince Basiru Olalekan Hassan a regional head at GTB Osun and Oyo state.

The scholarship was won by Adedire Dare fondly called Aremu Akewi an HND1 student, and Emmanuel Blessing Marry Nicknamed Omo Ibo akewi an ND2 student of the same department.

This was inferred during Osogbo National Students Union (ONSU) Iree Chapter social function known as OROKI DAY which was held today at MPH.

The scholarship came as a result of the eulogy (Ewi) that was presented by both students which portray the goodwill of Yoruba culture and how the duo eulogizes Oshogbo City, which however triggered Prince Basiru to award them the scholarship.

However, the scholarship is meant to pay 50 percent of their school fees.

Prince Basiru Olalekan Hassan was born in the family of Modi Oyipi Ruling House Osogbo, he attended LARO Primary school from 1984 to 1990 and proceeded to Fakunle comprehensive high school osogbo for his Secondary school from 1991 to 1997.

He gained admission into the University of Ado Ekiti (UNAD) now Ekiti State University (EKSU) for his tertiary education program within the year 2000 to 2004 and graduated with Second class Upper (4.32 cgpa) in BSC Accounting.

Basiru was once an ONSU national treasurer in the year 2003, Executive president, Nigeria University of Accounting Students in 2003, he worked with UBA BANK in the year 2006 to 2008 and currently working with GTBank as the regional head Oyo and Osun State, he is married to Mrs. Folake Mercy Olalekan and they are blessed with children.
