“You Must Not Have Carry Over”, OSPOLY Mgt Tells SUG Aspirants
The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has made it known that SUG aspirants must not have any carry-over in their respective courses, this contains the list of guidelines that was released, on Tuesday.
According to the memo that was made available to the public with the signature of Mr. Folajin Bolajoko, all members of the SUG must be duly registered and with a minimum CGPA of not less than 2.50 in the first semester results, while the presidential candidates must have the least of 2.70 CGPA.
Also, the executive position to be contested as stated by the memo includes; President, Vice President, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Financial, Secretary, Director of Socials, Public Relations Officer, Director of Sports, and Welfare Officer, as quoted from Article III Section 3 of the student union constitution.
Following are the other guidelines as stated in the memo;
(a) Members of SUG must be duly registered for the 2021/2022 Academic Session
(b) Such members (SUG) must be of good academic standing whose GPA must not be
less than 2,50 in the First Semester of his/her first year while the Presidential
Candidate must have a GPA of a maximum of 2.70 in the First Semester of his/her first
year
(c)Must have NO CARRYOVER.
(d)Should possess good leadership qualities, with an established track record of good
conduct.
(e)Must not directly or indirectly belong to or manifest any trait of membership of any
un-recognized societies or associations or sponsored by any illegal group.
(f) Should not hold two effective positions in the same academic year in the institution
Also ;
“Every candidate shall collect a nomination form from the ISEC at a non-refundable fee
stipulated by ISEC.
“The completed nomination form shall be submitted to the ISEC.”
“All contestants should not be seen moving from one faculty to another on the day of the election. Such act will automatically disqualify such candidate.”
“Counting of votes shall start immediately after the close of voting at the polling center.
The winner of the election shall be determined by having the majority of 10% total votes cast in each faculty of the Institution.”
“Election petition shall be filled with Election Commission not later than three (3) days after
the election”
“The result of the election shall be duly endorsed by the Chairman of the ISEC and Agents of the candidates”.
“Any unopposed candidate must fulfill the provision of Article VIl Section 2 Sub Section 2
before he/she can be declared the winner.
There would be a re-run between the leading candidate within seven (7) working days of declaration of the first ballot”
