BREAKING: OSPOLY Mgt Appoints Mrs Adeleke-Sola As HOD For ND Multimedia Technology
The Management of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, has appointed Mrs. Adeleke-Sola Dupe Sekinat as the new acting Head of Department (HOD) for Multimedia Technology under the umbrella of the Mass Communication Department.
Her appointment which was approved by the institution’s Academic Board with the endorsement of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), takes effect immediately.
Moreover, during an exclusive interview following her appointment, Mrs. Adeleke-Sola expressed gratitude to God and described this role as a call to service while assuring the Management, lecturers, and students of her commitment to making the department stand out.
She explained that Mass Communication is now broader than before, with Multimedia Technology as one of its options. The new department will be open to students applying for the ND programme in the institution and which is starting from those applying this year, and they will be fully engaged with practical and theoretical knowledge relevant to the field.
Mrs. Adeleke-Sola also revealed that in the future, Mass Communication could grow into a Faculty, with several options like Multimedia Technology becoming stand-alone departments under it.
The development is seen as a significant step in giving Mass Communication Department more exposure and aligning it with the evolving needs of the new era in polytechnic education.
Mrs. Adeleke-Sola, however added that she is expected to oversee both academic and administrative affairs of the department, work with staff and students, and drive innovation in Multimedia Technology in the institution.
