BREAKING: OSPOLY Mgt Issues Security Warning To Students
The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY), has issued a security alert to all students and members of the polytechnic community, advising them to stay indoors from 9:00 p.m. daily until further notice.
The memo released today, 7th October, 2025, was contained in an internal memorandum signed by the Registrar, Mr. R. I. Adebayo.
According to the memo, the warning follows intelligence reports indicating the possible presence of suspected Fulani herdsmen around Iree and neighboring communities. The management said the decision was taken as a preventive measure to safeguard the lives and property of students and staff.
"Students are strongly advised to remain indoors after 9:00 p.m. and avoid unnecessary movements at night,” the statement read in part.
The memo further urged students to be security-conscious and to report any suspicious or unfamiliar movement of people around their hostels or within the community to the school authorities without delay.
To ensure a swift emergency response, the management released the contact numbers of the institution’s Chief Security Officer (CSO) for immediate communication in case of threats or suspicious activity:

The statement emphasized that the safety and well-being of all students remain the institution’s top priority, assuring that necessary measures are being taken to maintain peace and order within the campus and its environs.
