"FICT Is The Pillar Of OSPOLY" – Dr. Idowu Akinrosoye
The Head of Department of Mass Communication at Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, Dr. Idowu Akinrosoye, has described the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT) as the “pillar” of the institution.
Dr. Akinrosoye made this known on Wednesday, February 26, 2026, during the orientation programme organised by the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, held at the NLH1 Building in Iree.
Addressing students at the event, he stated that FICT remains the leading faculty in the institution due to its strength in capacity, innovation, and large student population.
He noted that other faculties follow the pace set by FICT and urged students to leverage their strength to drive progress and development within the institution.
He further advised students to be their brothers’ keepers and to shun all forms of bullying.
According to him, lecturers and the institution’s management are always available to protect students’ interests. He also charged student leaders to prioritise and safeguard the welfare of their colleagues.
Dr. Akinrosoye warned students against joining unlawful or disruptive groups, encouraging them to remain vigilant and focused on their academic goals.
In addition, he urged students to always do the right thing at the right time, stressing the importance of completing essential academic and administrative requirements such as medical tests, screening, course registration, and other necessary campus procedures.
