• Hostel Fire Outbreak At OSPOLY: NANS JCC Osun Axis Pledges Support for Affected Students

    The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee (JCC), Osun Axis, has expressed deep sympathy for students affected by the recent hostel fire at Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY ), Iree.


    On 20th February 2026, the student body, led by Comrade Solomon Abel Ayobami, acknowledged the trauma and loss experienced by the victims and assured them of the organization’s full support.


    In a statement released and signed by Comrade Ajani H. Olanrewaju, Director of Special Duties, NANS JCC Osun Axis outlined immediate steps to assist affected students, including recovery and replacement of essential academic documents, provision of welfare support, and collaboration with the Polytechnic management to implement preventive measures to avert future incidents.


    The Association emphasized that these efforts will be carried out in partnership with the Student Union President and his executives to ensure the well-being of all students on campus.


    “NANS remains committed to advocacy, service, and protection of students’ rights across all campuses in Osun State,” the statement read.

    “We call on management, government agencies, and well-meaning individuals to join hands in providing relief and support to the affected students.”
