OSPOLY Alumnus, Lebi Anuoluwapo Laments NYSC Upload Delay, Seeks Urgent Action
A graduate of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, Lebi Anuoluwapo, has raised concerns over persistent administrative challenges that prevent him and several other graduates from participating in the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
In an open letter addressed to thinstitution's management, Anuoluwapo described the situation as a troubling reflection of inefficiencies within Nigeria’s educational system.
According to him, he graduated from OSPOLY in October 2024 and had completed his Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) regularization before graduation.
However, his name has yet to be successfully uploaded to the NYSC portal, with the system repeatedly indicating that his JAMB registration number does not exist.
He further explained in the open letter, that he visited the JAMB office in Ikoyi, Lagos, on March 3, 2026, following a notification from NYSC that his registration number was invalid. After consultations with officials, his admission letter was reprinted and his name was confirmed on the JAMB matriculation list.
Despite this confirmation, he said JAMB officials directed him back to OSPOLY, maintaining that his registration details were valid and that the issue might lie with the institution.
Anuoluwapo noted that attempts to resolve the matter with OSPOLY’s Student Affairs have so far been unsuccessful, as the institution reportedly insists the problem originates from JAMB.
He further revealed that several other graduates of OSPOLY and other institutions are facing similar difficulties, leaving them trapped between the two institutions with neither accepting responsibility.
The affected graduate described the situation as frustrating and emotionally draining, noting that many students are losing valuable time and opportunities while waiting for the issue to be resolved.
“Watching our peers move forward while we remain stagnant despite being ready to progress academically is discouraging and deeply unfair,” he stated.
He therefore called on the leadership of JAMB and the management of OSPOLY, including the Rector, Kehinde Alabi, to urgently collaborate to resolve the matter.
Anuoluwapo said that if the issue continues unresolved, affected students may be left with no choice but to organize a peaceful demonstration to demand accountability.
He expressed hope, however, that the authorities would intervene promptly to prevent further hardship for graduates awaiting their NYSC mobilization.
