The Chairman of the Governing Council of Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Hon. Diran Ayanbeku, has called for urgent improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, and security within the institution.

He made the call on Thursday, March 26, 2026, during the combined 8th convocation ceremony held at the institution’s pavilion.

In his address, Ayanbeku commended the Osun State Government for rehabilitating the road linking the institution to Iree town, noting that it has eased movement for students and residents.

However, he appealed to the government to complete the Ada–Iree road, describing it as dangerous and prone to accidents. According to him, fixing the road will help safeguard lives and improve accessibility.

The council chairman also called for the upgrade of the institution’s health centre to a standard hospital to enhance medical services for students and the host community.

Speaking on the security issues, he expressed concern over the absence of proper fencing around the campus, warning that it exposes the institution to external threats. He therefore urged relevant authorities to support the completion of the fencing project to protect lives and property.

Furthermore, while addressing the graduating students, Ayanbeku congratulated them on their academic success and urged them to be worthy ambassadors of the institution. He advised them to acquire practical skills, embrace technology, and consider entrepreneurship rather than relying solely on white-collar jobs.

He also cautioned against involvement in criminal activities, particularly cybercrime, while encouraging discipline, respect for authority, and adherence to due process in addressing grievances.

Ayanbeku further appreciated the institution’s management, staff, and host community for their support, while acknowledging the presence and contributions of government officials and guests at the ceremony.
