OSPOLY Rector, Kehinde Adeyemi Seeks Government Support for Campus FM Station

The Rector of Osun State Polytechnic ( OSPOLY ), Iree, Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi, has called on the Osun State Government to support the expansion and full development of the institution’s campus radio station, OSPOLY FM.
Alabi appealed on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the grand finale of the institution’s combined 8th convocation ceremony held at its pavilion in Iree.
According to the Rector, the polytechnic has recorded notable progress in academics, infrastructure, research, and institutional development since the last convocation, attributing the achievements to the continued support of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
He noted that the institution has strengthened its digital capacity through the development of a robust portal, which has improved both academic and administrative efficiency.
Highlighting advancements in practical training, Alabi explained that the Department of Mass Communication has been upgraded with the procurement of a modern transmitter, enabling the campus radio station to broadcast at 107.9 FM from the Oodua Mass Communication Complex.
However, he stressed the need for further government intervention to enhance the station, noting that additional development would provide students with more opportunities for hands-on experience in digital broadcasting.
Beyond broadcasting, the Rector disclosed that the institution has fabricated several machines, including a cassava peeling machine, defeathering machine, cashew nut extractor, rice milling machine, and garri frying machine, adding that the innovations are ready for commercial use.
Alabi also called on industries and relevant organisations to partner with the institution in advancing technical and innovative education in Nigeria.
