• "It Is Grace Alone” — Mrs. Fanimokun Speaks on New Appointment at OSPOLY

    By Samuel Akintola

The Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Tope Abiola, has publicly congratulated Mrs. Fanimokun A. I on her appointment as the new Head of Department of HND I Film and Multimedia Production at Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree.

The congratulatory message was delivered during the ongoing HND II Strategic Event Planning Programme held within the department.

During an Interview with NEB Correspondence,  Mrs. Fanimokun expressed gratitude to God for the appointment, describing it as an act of grace and divine favour.

According to her, “I return all glory to God. It is the grace of God and God alone. My faith is that no one can receive anything except it is given by God.”

She also appreciated the leadership figures she described as the “tripod stand” of the department for believing in her ability to fill the position.

Mrs. Fanimokun specifically acknowledged the Head of Department of Mass Communication, Dr. Idowu Akinrosoye, Dr. Tope Abiola, Dr. Aderemi Adeagbo, as well as the Rector of the institution, Mr. Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi, for approving the appointment.

“I so much believe in reputation and image. Anything whatsoever we are doing, whether near or far, somebody somewhere is watching,” she stated.

The newly appointed HOD further described the appointment as unexpected, noting that she sees it as a product of grace rather than personal effort.

“I don’t deserve that because out of all women in the department, I count it all as grace and grace alone. When your time comes, nothing will stop it,” she added.

Speaking on her plans for the department, Mrs. Fanimokun said she believes strongly in timing and divine direction rather than making unrealistic promises.

“I won’t want to raise hopes unnecessarily. I believe in timing. Whenever it is time for us to carry out projects or instill discipline, I believe God will step in and help us,” she said.

She also advised students not to give up on themselves despite challenges they may face academically or personally.

“Don’t give up on yourself. Grace still speaks. No matter how hard or tough it may be, please keep going. Know your God, don’t compete with others, and protect your reputation and image as your life depends on it,” she advised.

She further urged students to remain mindful of the kind of people and environment surrounding them while pursuing their academic goals.
