OSPOLY Renewable Energy Department Promotes Alternative Energy Solutions
The Renewable Energy Department of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, has called on prospective students to consider careers in renewable energy as part of efforts to address growing energy challenges in Nigeria.
In an awareness campaign released by the department, students were encouraged to explore opportunities in clean and sustainable energy technologies through its National Diploma (ND) programme.
According to the department, students are trained in solar energy installation, wind energy systems, biogas production, hydro power, and other alternative energy solutions. The programme also focuses on practical technical training designed to equip students with hands-on experience and industry-relevant skills.
The department noted that graduates can become self-employed or pursue careers in the renewable energy sector, which continues to experience increasing demand for skilled professionals.
Admission requirements include five O'Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology, as well as registration for the ND Renewable Energy programme through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The department further stated that the programme is aimed at preparing students to contribute to sustainable development and environmental conservation through innovative energy solutions.
Interested applicants were advised to contact the department for further enquiries.
