The National President of the Mass Communication Alumni of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (MAOS), Comrade Adekunle Sikiru (Abacus), has said the association has invested several millions of naira in developmental projects aimed at strengthening the institution and improving learning conditions.

Adekunle made this known on Saturday during the launch of the MAOS National Secretariat and Legacy Hub Project held in Osogbo, where alumni, management of the institution, students, and other stakeholders gathered to support the initiative.

He explained that over the years, MAOS has consistently contributed to the growth of the Department of Mass Communication and the institution at large through targeted interventions designed to address infrastructural and academic needs.

According to him, the association has provided generators and inverter systems to improve electricity supply within the department, supplied chairs and tables for students, and supported the establishment and development of the Department of Photography Technology.

He noted that these interventions, which run into several millions of naira, reflect the association’s long-standing commitment to giving back to its alma mater and improving the learning environment for students.

Adekunle described the newly launched National Secretariat and Legacy Hub Project as a landmark initiative that would further strengthen the structure of the association while preserving its legacy for future generations of Mass Communication graduates.

He explained that the project is expected to serve as a permanent administrative headquarters for MAOS, as well as a centre for coordination, mentorship, and professional development among alumni.

The MAOS president, however, called on alumni, corporate organisations, and other well-meaning stakeholders to support the project financially and morally, stressing that its successful execution depends on collective effort. He expressed optimism that the Legacy Hub, when completed, would enhance alumni engagement, strengthen ties with the institution, and serve as a lasting symbol of unity and development within the MAOS community.
