NANS Launches Portal to Verify Unpaid ITF SIWES Allowances
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has launched an online verification portal for students who have completed their Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) but have yet to receive their Industrial Training Fund (ITF) allowances.
The development was announced in a press statement dated July 2, 2026, and signed by the National President of NANS, Dist. Comr. Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, GCNS.
According to the statement, the initiative follows the inauguration of the ITF SIWES and Intervention Projects Assessment, Verification and Monitoring Committee, established to assess and verify complaints relating to unpaid SIWES allowances.
NANS explained that the verification portal became necessary following conflicting reports over the payment of eligible students. While some reports indicate that beneficiaries have received their allowances, many students across the country maintain that they have yet to be paid.
The association said the portal is intended to compile accurate data on affected students and ensure that those who are genuinely owed receive their entitlements.
Students who have completed their industrial training but have yet to receive their ITF SIWES allowance have been advised to submit their details through the verification portal at https://itf.nanshq.org.
The NANS President reaffirmed the association's commitment to protecting the interests of Nigerian students, assuring affected beneficiaries that the leadership would continue to engage relevant authorities until the payment issues are resolved.
