• JUST IN: OSPOLY SRC Rejects August 24–28 SUG Week Date, Cites Legislative Process

    By Zainab Adeyemi

The Students' Representative Council (SRC) of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has placed an embargo on the proposed 2026 SUG Week, declaring that no date has been officially approved for the programme.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Office of the Clerk of the SRC on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, and addressed to the entire student body.

According to the statement, the proposed August 24–28, 2026 date did not pass through the required deliberation and legislative procedure of the Students' Representative Council.

The Council consequently advised students to disregard any announcement, publicity, or information circulating about the proposed SUG Week dates until a date is properly deliberated upon, approved, and communicated.

It urged the student body to remain calm and rely only on official communication from the appropriate authorities regarding the programme.

The statement was signed by Senator Ogunsakin Samuel Temiloluwa (OG MEDIA), Speaker of the Students' Representative Council, and Senator Ajayi Deborah Marvellous (GLAMOUR), Clerk of the Council.

The proposed August 24–28 dates therefore remain unapproved pending completion of the required legislative process.
