Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has constructed an 80-bed female hostel comprising 22 rooms to address students’ accommodation challenges and improve welfare on campus.

The hostel, located behind the Works and Services unit, past the Health Centre along the Medical Centre axis of the institution, was constructed through the intervention of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

The project forms part of the efforts of the Rector, Comrade Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi, and his management team to improve students’ welfare and strengthen the institution’s infrastructure.

The new facility is expected to ease accommodation difficulties, particularly for newly admitted female students resuming their academic programmes.

The institution also disclosed that efforts are ongoing to provide additional hostel facilities through TETFund interventions and public-private partnership arrangements.

As part of the initiative, the management has called on interested private developers to partner with the institution in constructing more hostels on campus.

The development is expected to improve access to on-campus accommodation and provide a more conducive environment for learning.
