JUST IN: OSPOLY Holds Orientation Programme for UNILORIN/UNIZIK Affiliate Students

The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY), conducted an orientation programme for affiliate students under the University of Ilorin and Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) programmes today, 20th January 2026, at the ETF Hall, Iree.
Comrade Ajayi, the Rector of the Polytechnic, described the orientation as an important platform to familiarize students with the rules, regulations, and academic expectations of the institution.
He urged the students to remain focused and hardworking, stressing that their primary purpose in the institution is to earn their degrees, also cautioned them against being distracted by unnecessary extracurricular activities and encouraged them to remain disciplined throughout their academic journey.
During the orientation, he also introduced the NELFUND Student Loan Scheme, which is a federal government initiative designed to assist students who may be facing financial difficulties in paying their tuition fees.

He explained that eligible students could access the loan to support their education and continue their academic pursuits.
Furthermore, the Dean of Students’ Affairs (DSA), Dr. Olutope Abiola, assured them of a smooth and supportive academic environment during their stay in the institution as long as they follow all the necessary rules.
He advised the students to take the affiliate programme seriously, complete their registrations on time, avoid indecent dressing, and shun all forms of criminal activities, and encouraged them to channel any grievances or complaints through their programme directors or report to the Students’ Affairs Office, either through the suggestion box or by meeting designated staff members.
Speaking at the event, the External Director, Dr. Daniel T. Alade, expressed appreciation to the Rector and the management of the institution for their commitment to the successful take-off of the affiliate programmes.
Dr. Alade noted that students within the Iree environment could achieve the same academic excellence as those who travel abroad, provided they remain disciplined and dedicated.
Moreover, Barrister Aboderin O., sensitized students on crimes within academic institutions and their associated penalties and highlighted offences such as violent crimes, physical assault, theft, financial crimes, trespass, conspiracy, libel and slander, embezzlement, false alarm, and examination malpractice.
Also speaking, the Admissions Officer, Dr. Adeleke M. O., advised students to complete both their online and physical registrations promptly. She encouraged students facing admission-related challenges to visit the Admissions Office for assistance.
