FICT DECIDES: Official Standard Emerges Victorious As ISEC Declares 2025/2026 Election Results as Others Run Unopposed
The Independent Student Electoral Commission (ISEC) of the Faculty of Information Communication and Technology (FICT), Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY), has officially declared the results of the 2025/2026 Faculty Election held today, October 16, 2025, at the front of the Multipurpose Hall 2 (MPH) building.
The election commenced exactly at 11:00 a.m. and concluded at 1:00 p.m., producing a new set of FICT executives. All positions were contested unopposed, except the office of the Public Relations Officer (PRO), which witnessed a competitive race between Olumose and Official Standard.
Announcing the results, the ISEC Chairman, Kazeem Akanji, commended the students for conducting themselves peacefully throughout the process, emphasizing that the election was free, fair, and transparent.
Below are the official results as declared by ISEC from each department under FICT:
Department of Library and Information Science (LIS) / Health Information Science (HIS):
Olumose – 13 Votes
Official Standard – 27 Votes
Void – 6 Votes
Department of Mass Communication:
Olumose – 42 Votes
Official Standard – 94 Votes
Void – 13 Votes
Department of Office Technology Management (OTM):
Olumose – 2 Votes
Official Standard – 25 Votes
Void – 3 Votes
Department of Computer Science:
Olumose – 9 Votes
Official Standard – 15 Votes
Void – 7 Votes
Total Votes Cast:
Olumose – 66
Official Standard – 161
Void – 29
The Official Standard emerged victorious, officially declared by the ISEC as the new Public Relations Officer for the Faculty of ICT, while other executives were returned unopposed.
The election marks yet another milestone in the democratic culture of the Faculty, setting a tone of leadership continuity and unity among FICT students.
