• OSPOLY SUG President Clarifies N10,000 Portal Increasement Charges, Urge Students to Meet Registration Deadline

Interview Session with the SUG President Comrade Ajayi Kehinde

    By Samuel Akintola

On a complaint that has been on campus for some time, regarding the 10,000 increase on the student portal, the President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), Comrade Ajayi Kehinde, has clarified concerns surrounding the N10,000 charge reflected on the institution’s portal.

During an interview session with the NEB Correspondence, the SUG President explained that after visiting the Registrar and the Gannaf office ( Expert in charge of School Portal ) for clarification, he found out that the N10,000 charge is meant for Internet Data subscription to enable students access digital academic services.

According to him, the subscription is intended to support students’ online academic activities across the institution.

He also advised newly admitted students to complete their medical screening within the stipulated time to avoid issues that may prevent them from sitting for examinations, because visiting there, they complain on low attendance of students which is not okay.

Furthermore, Comrade Ajayi urged all students HND II, HND I, ND II, and ND I  to strictly adhere to the registration and school fees payment deadline set by the management, which is scheduled to close on March 2.

Addressing the complaints from students, the SUG President noted that if students can remember vividly,  those who paid for school fees during their ND I and HND I sessions (now ND II and HND II students) they already paid the N10,000 Internet data subscription but were reportedly unable to fully utilize the service at the time.

He stated that the union is appealing to the management to consider allowing students to use the previous subscription since they already paid for it before rather than making a fresh payment.

The SUG leadership assured students that discussions are ongoing and pledged to continue engaging with the management in the interest of the student body.
