Ministry of Finance Organises Entrepreneurship Programme for OSPOLY Students

The Federal Ministry of Finance has organised an entrepreneurship programme for students of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to become self-reliant and tackle unemployment.
The programme was held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Education Trust Fund (ETF) Hall of the institution.
Speaking during the programme, Mr. Yekini Olajuwon, a representative of the Federal Ministry of Finance, said the initiative was designed to promote entrepreneurship, create sustainable jobs, and encourage innovation and creativity among young people.
He explained that entrepreneurship is about identifying problems and providing solutions, noting that students should develop the right mindset, generate ideas, and collaborate with others to build successful businesses.
Mr. Olajuwon advised aspiring entrepreneurs to identify viable business opportunities, conduct market research, prepare a business plan, secure startup capital, and choose suitable business locations, whether physical or online.
He added that consistency, innovation, and effective promotion are essential for business growth, stressing that entrepreneurs must continue to improve their products and services to remain competitive.
He further encouraged students to begin developing their ideas now, connect with like-minded individuals, and take advantage of digital platforms to share their innovations and expand their businesses.
The programme forms part of the Federal Ministry of Finance's efforts to promote entrepreneurship among Nigerian youths and empower students with practical knowledge for economic growth and self-employment.
